According to reports going round, Senator Jummai Alhassan, under the All Progressives Congress, (APC) has won the governorship election in Taraba State, making her the first elected female Governor in the country. The first ever female Governor was Dame Virgy Etiaba. She became the Governor of Anambra State after the impeachment of Peter Obi. Way to go Nigeria! A step closer to gender equality. Now females don't have to dream of being Governors' wives again, when they can become Governors themselves.
