The Imo INEC office located in Nwaorubi Mbaitoli local governemnt of the state was burnt down today. The fire was said to have started by 1:30am and was caused by a generator set. The fire which was said to have gutted down almost everything did not affect the card readers which are to be used for the Saturday gubernatorial elections as they were kept in a safe place.
The Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) for the State, Gabriel Ada noted that the incident may cause little set backs on the election day. He however also said that the commission would do everything possible to make sure elections hold in the area on Saturday.
